OCRS Badge Creator

2026
OCRS Badge Creator Result

The WYSIWYG editor

The text moving tools really help for those with longer or shorter names and positions to make whatever they wanted fit on the badge. There is also the option to continue adding badges to the list, so you can print multiple names at once.

The text field area where users would enter their information for the badge and QR generation.

The OCRS Badge Creator was made when we decided that it would be beneficial to have a station where attendees could print their own badges out. Prior to this, we were making badges for people that forgot to sign up online. This makes it so that we could leave the line that needed a badge largely unmonitored and redirect the staff of the event elsewhere.

The badge creator, although simply styled, has the print template set up for the badge printers that the Information Security Office had: 4 x 12 inch, Single-sided fold-over badges. It also had a WYSIWYG editor built in, so that users could orient and resize their text field on the badge as needed. Finally, it would make a QR code that scanned as a contact card for your smartphone.

Leaving a blank spot to upload new designs for the event ensures that the software can be used for as many years as we have the same printer.
